Run The Cape Tulbagh — where adventure and indulgence come together.
We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.
Reach De Stilte Farmstay, an elegant tented getaway in the Tulbagh Valley, where you can register and have a light lunch. Then, get ready for an enjoyable 7km trail with well-kept single-track and picturesque jeep-track sections.
After departing the farm gate and crossing the Boonjtiesrivier, the road winds through wheat fields and gently climbs to magnificent views. The Valley View switchbacks and a portion of pine forest offer a little adventure, and yes, the prize is sparkling at the top!
On day 2 we will be moving along the Witzenberg Mountain range. A steep kicker out of the camp commences the run.
To get to the Witzenberg Game Park, turn left. As you approach a downhill section, keep an eye out for zebras, springbuck, and more, but don’t be fooled—it soon turns into a slow incline. You will then enter beautiful pine trees with stunning views. Keep in mind that life is a climb, but the view is always worthwhile!
You can enjoy mostly downhill sections as you travel through Noah Farm and take in the breathtaking views on your way back to De Stilte.
The final day to loosen up those stiff legs, runners head through neighbouring farms at the foot of the Witzenberg mountain range.
Enjoy the downhill towards another neighbouring, take a plunge in the big dam if you’d like, before finishing off your final kilometre back to the camp.
Tulbagh is one of South Africa’s oldest towns, dating back to the late 1600s when it was first settled by European farmers — and it was named after Dutch Governor Ryk Tulbagh.
